Lapland Fellas Studios is the perfect choice for guests who value extra privacy and the comfort of self-catering accommodation. The guesthouse features four stylish studio apartments, each with its own fully equipped kitchen and private en-suite bathroom, offering all the comforts of home in the heart of Äkäslompolo, Ylläs.
Just like every Lapland Fellas property, Studios also offers inviting shared spaces where you can relax by the fireplace, meet fellow travellers or unwind after a day outdoors. Guests also have access to our newly renovated Finnish sauna and can borrow complimentary outdoor equipment, including bicycles for short trips, helping you make the most of your stay in Ylläs.
Lapland Fellas Studios is located in the peaceful Röhkömukka area of Äkäslompolo, just 2 km from the village centre. Right next door is Lapland Fellas Äkäslompolo, where guests can enjoy a different style of accommodation with private rooms and extensive shared spaces.

LAPLAND FELLAS STUDIOs
Enjoy the comfort and privacy of your own stylish studio apartment in Äkäslompolo, Ylläs. Designed for two guests, the apartment features a comfortable double bed, a private en-suite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchenette, high-speed Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, a drying cabinet and ample wardrobe space.
The kitchenette includes an induction hob (no oven), refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, Nespresso machine, toaster, electric kettle and all the cookware, tableware and utensils you need for a comfortable self-catering stay. Baby cot baby equipment available.
The apartment is accessed through the guesthouse’s shared entrance using a secure Yale smart lock, allowing for convenient self check-in and keyless access throughout your stay.
Perfect for families and small groups, our spacious Family Studio Apartment comfortably accommodates up to four guests. The apartment features a comfortable double bed in a partially separated sleeping area, a single bed and an additional armchair bed for a fourth guest.
Enjoy the privacy of your own fully equipped kitchen, private en-suite bathroom, spacious wardrobes, a drying cabinet, Smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi and an air-source heat pump providing both heating and cooling for year-round comfort.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, oven, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, Nespresso machine, toaster, electric kettle and everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay. Baby cot baby equipment available.
The apartment has its own private entrance with a secure Yale smart lock, while guests also have access to the shared facilities through the guesthouse’s main entrance whenever they wish.
Shared facilities
Although you’ll enjoy the privacy of your own apartment, you’re also welcome to make the most of our shared spaces. Relax in the lounge, meet fellow travellers or reserve the Finnish sauna for your own private session.
Guests can also borrow complimentary bicycles for short trips to the village, whether you’re heading to the supermarket or a local restaurant. In the evening, gather around the outdoor fire pit and enjoy a cosy campfire while grilling your own snacks under the Lapland sky.

The cosy lounge is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring Ylläs. Sink into a comfortable armchair, enjoy the warmth of the beautiful natural stone fireplace and chat with fellow travellers in a welcoming atmosphere.
The fireplace is more than just a cosy centrepiece – you can even grill sausages over the open fire for a truly authentic Finnish experience.
You’ll also find useful local information in the lounge, including recommendations for restaurants, activities and attractions, as well as practical guest information to help you make the most of your stay.
Sauna
Just relax.
Our newly renovated Finnish sauna is the perfect place to relax and recharge after a day exploring Ylläs.
Complimentary shared sauna sessions are available every evening:
- Women: 6:30–7:30 pm
- Men: 7:30–8:30 pm
If you prefer a more private experience, you can reserve the sauna for your exclusive use when making your booking or at any time during your stay by scanning the QR code available in the guesthouse.
Please note that the sauna is not heated automatically. Guests are asked to switch it on themselves before use by following the simple instructions displayed next to the sauna door
Outdoor equipment
Outdoor equipment and maintenance room
A dedicated outdoor equipment storage room is located next to the guesthouse, providing a convenient place to store, dry and maintain your own skis, bikes and other outdoor gear.
Guests are also welcome to borrow a selection of complimentary outdoor equipment, including two fat bikes, one mountain bike, sledges, snowshoes and cross-country skis.
Our cross-country skis and snowshoes have been well used over the years and are best suited for beginners or guests who would simply like to try these classic Lapland activities without bringing or renting their own equipment. Most of the skis are designed for classic cross-country skiing
Fire pit
Make memories by the fire
Gather around the outdoor fire pit and enjoy one of the most authentic experiences of Finnish Lapland. Grill sausages over the open fire, relax under the Arctic sky or simply unwind by the crackling flames after a day of adventure in Ylläs.
Firewood is provided and can be found in the woodshed next to the outdoor equipment storage room, so everything is ready for a cosy evening by the fire.
Location
Lapland Fellas Studios is located at Suistotie 5 in the peaceful Röhkömukka area of Äkäslompolo, surrounded by the fells of Ylläs. From the moment you arrive, you’ll experience the tranquillity of Finnish Lapland. On clear nights, you may even be lucky enough to watch the Northern Lights from the guesthouse grounds.
Lapland Fellas Studios is the dark-coloured building at Suistotie 5. The light blue building next door at Suistotie 3 is our sister property, Lapland Fellas Äkäslompolo, which has its own facilities and guest areas.
The guesthouse is located approximately 2 km from Jounin Kauppa, Äkäslompolo’s main supermarket, and 1.5–2.5 km from the village’s restaurants, cafés and activities. You can easily reach the village on foot, by car, using our complimentary bicycles or by ski bus. The nearest ski bus stop, Röhkömukka, is located approximately 700 metres away on Tunturintie

By Car
Free on-site parking is available for all guests, please park on the left hand side of the parking lot. Parking spaces with engine-heater outlets are provided, although we cannot guarantee an outlet for every vehicle. During busy periods, guests are welcome to share the outlets as needed.
By Plane or Train
If you’re arriving at Kittilä Airport or Kolari Railway Station, you can take the airport or train shuttle bus to the Röhkömukka stop (please let the driver know your destination). The bus stop is approximately 700 metres from Lapland Fellas.
During the winter season, shuttle buses operate in connection with arriving flights and trains. Tickets can be purchased through Matkahuolto.
Outside the main winter season, the airport shuttle operates by advance reservation only, so please remember to book your seat before travelling.
By Taxi
Taxis are available from both Kittilä Airport and Kolari Railway Station.

Check-in
The day before your arrival, you’ll receive an information package via your booking platform’s messaging system or by email. This message includes the access code for the main entrance.
On the morning of your arrival, you’ll receive a text message with your apartment number and the personal access code for your apartment.
If you’ve booked one of our Family Studio Apartments (Apartments 3 or 4), please use your apartment’s private entrance when entering for the first time. The access code provided in your text message will unlock the door.
Check-in to your apartment is available from 4:00 pm. You’re welcome to arrive earlier and use the shared facilities at any time. Please note that there is no toilet available in the shared areas before you access your apartment.
Check-out is by 11:00 am. After checking out, you’re welcome to continue using the shared facilities until the evening if you’d like to make the most of your final day in Ylläs
House rules
- Smoking is not permitted indoors. A designated smoking area is available outside next to the waste bins.
- Please help us keep the shared areas clean and tidy, as daily housekeeping is not provided.
- Please be respectful of other guests and take good care of the property.
- Most importantly, relax, enjoy your stay and have a wonderful time in Ylläs!

Finnish Sauna
You can reserve the sauna for your private use during your stay by scanning the QR code available in the guesthouse. Complimentary shared sauna sessions are also available every evening:
- Women: 6:30–7:30 pm
- Men: 7:30–8:30 pm

Complimentary Outdoor Equipment & Storage
Guests are welcome to borrow a selection of complimentary outdoor equipment, including bicycles (three available), cross-country skis, snowshoes and sledges. The bicycles are intended for short trips, such as visiting the supermarket or nearby restaurants.
Our cross-country skis and snowshoes have been well used over the years and are best suited for beginners or guests who would simply like to try these classic Lapland activities.
A heated storage and ski maintenance room is also available, providing a convenient place to store, dry and maintain your own bicycles, skis and other outdoor equipment throughout your stay
