The guesthouse features two fully equipped kitchens, inviting lounges with a fireplace and a beautiful sauna area – the perfect place to unwind after a day of skiing, hiking or exploring Ylläs.
As with every Lapland Fellas property, guests can borrow outdoor equipment free of charge, including fat bikes, cross-country skis, snowshoes and sledges, making it easy to experience the best of Äkäslompolo in every season.
Lapland Fellas Äkäslompolo is located in the peaceful Röhkömukka area of Äkäslompolo, just 2 km from the village centre. Right next door you’ll find Lapland Fellas Studios, offering fully equipped studio apartments with private kitchens for guests who prefer even more independence.

Our spacious Twin Room is thoughtfully designed for couples, friends and small families looking for comfortable accommodation in Äkäslompolo, Ylläs. The room features a private en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer, ensuring a relaxing and convenient stay.
To make your stay even more comfortable, the room includes a drying cabinet for outdoor clothing, generous storage space and a desk that’s perfect for remote work or enjoying a quiet meal. The extra-long beds (100 × 220 cm) provide exceptional comfort after a day of skiing, hiking or exploring Finnish Lapland. Prefer a double bed? Simply place the beds together. A travel cot for young children is available on request.
Your stay includes bed linen, towels and final cleaning, so you can focus on enjoying your holiday. Self check-in is quick and easy using a personal door code, which you’ll receive by message before arrival.

Our spacious 30 m² shared room offers an affordable and comfortable accommodation option for solo travellers, backpackers and outdoor enthusiasts visiting Äkäslompolo, Ylläs. Conveniently located next to the guest lounge and shared bathroom facilities, it’s a great choice for guests looking for a social and relaxed atmosphere.
The room accommodates up to four guests and features comfortable 100 cm wide beds with privacy curtains for added personal space. Each guest has access to a lockable storage locker, a personal power outlet and an individual reading light.
Guests staying in the shared room have access to a toilet located just outside the room, as well as the guesthouse shower facilities in the sauna area. Please note that the showers are temporarily unavailable while the sauna has been reserved for private use by other guests.
This is a mixed shared room, welcoming both male and female travellers. Please note that you are booking a bed in a shared room, not a private room.

Enjoy your meals together in the dining areas or retreat to the comfort of your own room or apartment. After an active day outdoors, relax in the sauna, unwind in the cooling lounge or enjoy the fresh Lapland air on the terrace. Guests can use the daily shared sauna sessions or reserve the sauna for private use.
To make your stay even better value, Lapland Fellas offers a selection of complimentary outdoor equipment, including cross-country skis, snowshoes, bicycles for short trips and sledges. A dedicated heated ski maintenance room is also available, making it easy to store and prepare your equipment for your next adventure in Ylläs

The lounge is the heart of Lapland Fellas – a warm and welcoming space where guests come together to enjoy meals, play board games, share stories or simply unwind by the fireplace after a day outdoors.
Next to the main lounge, you’ll find an additional dining area with two smaller dining tables, offering a quieter space for breakfast, remote work or a relaxed meal with family and friends.
Kitchens
Fully Equipped Kitchens
Two spacious communal kitchens ensure there’s plenty of room for several guests to cook at the same time. Whether you’re preparing a quick breakfast, brewing an espresso or cooking a full dinner, you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay.
Both kitchens are fully equipped with modern appliances, cookware, tableware and dining essentials. Each room has its own designated storage space in the refrigerators, making it easy to keep your groceries organised throughout your stay.
One of the kitchens also includes a washing machine and you can dry your clothes in the drying cabinet found in your room (not in dormitory)

The sauna at Lapland Fellas is one of our guests’ favourite places to unwind after a day outdoors. Enjoy a spacious Finnish sauna with beautiful views, a comfortable lounge and changing area, direct access to the terrace, and a separate toilet for added convenience.
A shared sauna session is available every evening, giving you the chance to experience an authentic Finnish sauna during your stay. If you prefer more privacy, you can also reserve the sauna exclusively for yourself, your family or your group

Complimentary Outdoor Equipment & Ski Maintenance Room
Make the most of your stay in Ylläs with our complimentary outdoor equipment. Guests are welcome to borrow cross-country skis, snowshoes, sledges and bicycles for short trips – all free of charge.
A dedicated heated ski maintenance and storage room is also available, providing the perfect place to store, dry and maintain your skis and other outdoor equipment after a day on the trails

Getting here
Lapland Fellas and Villa Fellas are located in the peaceful Röhkömukka area of Äkäslompolo, Ylläs, at Suistotie 3.
By Car
Free on-site parking is available for our guests. Parking spaces with engine-heater outlets are available, although we cannot guarantee one for every vehicle. During busy periods, guests are welcome to share the outlets as needed.
By Plane or Train
If you’re arriving via Kittilä Airport or Kolari Railway Station, you can take the airport or train shuttle bus to the Röhkömukka stop (please let the driver know your destination). The bus stop is approximately 700 metres from Lapland Fellas.
During the winter season, shuttle buses operate in connection with arriving flights and trains. Tickets can be purchased through Matkahuolto.
Outside the main season, airport buses operate on request only. Please remember to book your seat in advance via Rundgren Ky before travelling.
By Taxi
You can also take a taxi directly to Lapland Fellas or Villa Fellas.

Check-in
The day before your arrival, you’ll receive an information package via your booking platform’s messaging system or by email. This message includes the access code for the main entrance.
On the morning of your arrival, you’ll receive a text message with your room name and your personal access code.
Check-in is available from 4:00 pm. You’re welcome to arrive earlier and make use of the shared facilities at any time before accessing your room.
Check-out is by 11:00 am. After checking out, you’re welcome to continue using the shared facilities until the evening if you’d like to make the most of your final day in Ylläs.
House rules
Smoking is not permitted indoors. A designated smoking area is available outside next to the waste bins.
Please help us keep the shared spaces clean and tidy, as daily housekeeping is not provided.
Please be respectful of other guests and take good care of the property.

At Lapland Fellas, you’ll stay in either a private en-suite room or a bed in our shared room, while enjoying access to more than 200 m² of beautifully designed shared spaces. During your stay, you’ll have access to two fully equipped kitchens, a cosy lounge, two dining areas and a traditional Finnish sauna.
Lounge & Dining Areas
The lounge is the heart of Lapland Fellas – a welcoming place to relax, watch TV, enjoy the warmth of the fireplace or spend time with fellow travellers. Two separate dining areas provide plenty of space for meals, remote work or planning your next adventure.
Fully Equipped Kitchens
Guests have access to two fully equipped communal kitchens with everything needed to prepare anything from a quick breakfast to a full dinner. Each room and each bed in the shared room has its own designated storage space in the refrigerators.
You’re welcome to enjoy your meals in the dining areas or in the privacy of your own room. As daily housekeeping is not provided, we kindly ask all guests to clean up after themselves.
Finnish Sauna
Relax in our spacious Finnish sauna after a day outdoors. The sauna and adjoining lounge can be reserved for your private use either in advance through the Lapland Fellas website or during your stay.
Complimentary shared sauna sessions are available every evening:
- Women: 6:30–7:30 pm
- Men: 7:30–8:30 pm
Complimentary Outdoor Equipment & Storage
Guests can borrow a selection of complimentary outdoor equipment, including bicycles (available for short trips), cross-country skis, snowshoes and sledges.
A heated storage and ski maintenance room is also available, providing a convenient place to store, dry and maintain your own bicycles, skis and other outdoor equipment throughout your stay.
