Lapland Fellas is located among the fell mountains in Äkäslompolo, Ylläs, in a peaceful spot called Röhkömukka. From the hotel yard, you can already feel the tranquility of Lapland, watch the northern lights, and marvel at the calmness of Lapland.

It is easy to reach us by car, train, and plane. There are heated parking spots for cars in the hotel yard. Train and airport buses stop 700 meters away, where you can also catch the ski bus to Ylläs slopes. We can also provide tips for airport transfers, for example.

Lapland Fellas is a staffless hotel focused on offering a unique accommodation experience. All Ylläs services are within walking distance, and you can choose the activities that suit you best from the wide and growing range of programs and rentals in Äkäslompolo. First-class ski tracks start right next to the hotel. You can also borrow bicycles and sledges free of charge for errands such as grocery shopping.

We provide recommendations for different service providers and tips for the best fell Lapland excursions!

  • Lapland Fellas and Villa Fellas are located in Ylläs Äkäslompolo village in the Röhkömukka area, Suistotie 3.

  • If you arrive by car, there are parking lots with heating poles available in the yard. We cannot guarantee a heating pole for everyone, but during peak times guests can arrange among themselves the use of the poles.

  • If you arrive by plane to Kittilä Airport or by train to Kolari Railway Station, the airport and train bus will take you to the bus stop called Röhkömukka (mention the stop to the driver), located 700 meters from Lapland Fellas. In the winter season, buses operate according to flight and train schedules, and tickets can be purchased at Matkahuolto.fi. During off-season, remember to reserve your seat in advance at https://www.rundgrenoy.fi/lentokenttabussi, as the buses operate on a demand-responsive basis (only running upon request).

  • Alternatively, you can take a taxi to Lapland Fellas Äkäslompolo – just mention Suistotie 3, Äkäslompolo.

  • You have received via text message the name of your room and a 6-digit code to enter the room.

  • You can find your room from the room plan.

  • You have received via email the 6-digit code to enter the front door.

  • Bedlinen, towels, and basic necessities are provided in the room.

  • You have access to common areas including two kitchens, a living room, dining areas, sauna, and equipment storage.

  • You can enjoy daily common sauna time free of charge – private sauna sessions can be booked online.

  • No smoking indoors – smoking area is located next to the bin outside.

  • Please keep common spaces clean – there is no daily cleaning.

  • Respect other guests and the property.

  • Enjoy your stay and have fun!

  • At Lapland Fellas, you will have either your own ensuite bedroom or a bed in a dormitory, and you will also have access to spacious common areas including two kitchens, a living room, two dining areas, and a sauna.

  • Lounges: In the living room you’ll find a cozy sofa area with a large TV and a beautiful fireplace. There are two dining areas: one in the living room and another next to the entrance hall.

  • Kitchens: Two fully equipped kitchens are available. Each room and dormitory bed has its own storage space in the refrigerators. You can cook in the kitchens and eat either in the common areas or in the privacy of your own room. There is no daily cleaning, so guests are kindly asked to clean up after themselves.

  • Sauna: A wonderful sauna and sauna lounge that you can book for your own private use either during your stay or in advance through the Lapland Fellas website. In addition, you can enjoy the daily public sauna times: women 18:30–19:30 and men 19:30–20:30.

  • Equipment rental and storage: There is a storage room where you can borrow bicycles (three bikes), cross-country skiing equipment, snowshoes, and sleds free of charge. The equipment is intended for short-term use, and the bikes are perfect, for example, for a trip to the store. In the heated storage, you can also store and maintain your own bikes or ski equipment.
